logos redux

I may have to order one of these. At $9 a piece it’s not much of an investment and I’ve been looking for something like this for a long time. I’m not jazzed about the TNIV as a translation but the idea of a Bible in a single column format with no verse numbers is very appealing. I found something like this in E.V. Rieu’s Oxford Classic, but it was only the 4 Gospels.

Also, the divisions of the text literarily and the absence of all notes would be great. I find myself so distracted trying to read many of the common versions that it is hard to just sit down and tear through an epistle or a minor prophet. I don’t know about the changing of the order of the books because I don’t know how they did it, but it seems like combining books like Luke-Acts that have been divided would be helpful for reading.

Michael Spencer has noted over at the Boar’s Head Tavern that he is selling a bunch of books on ebay and half.com. He’s got some great stuff including Schaeffer’s complete works, Shelby Foote’s works, Word and Anchor commentaries, etc. Wish I weren’t broke right now.
